Description: I have never seen a hat like this! After speaking to a friend, she spoke to her mom who remembers her grandmother wearing something like this and calling it a "working sunbonnet". Maybe so you could keep your braids down and not burn the part in your hair! This is from an estate and was found in an old linen box in the garage. The red polka dot fabric feels strong and stiff (like it is starched) and I'm pretty sure has an inside layer. It has no holes, tears or stains. The ruffled trim feels ..crispy?, fragile but has no holes or tears. The ties feel strong yet are made of light fabric. There are some discolorations and the ends are dirty as well as three small holes and a few fabric "pulls" shown in photos. The elastic at the neck has reached the end of its life and will dissolve if pulled. The ties are intentionally two different lengths! Check the photos carefully as I tried to honestly show what you are getting. I am a finder not a keeper, so please ask any question you might have-I don't know what is important to you. I will always combine shipping to save you money if that is possible. When making a multiple purchase, it is best to add items to your shopping cart and then request an invoice.
