DATING TO THE EARLY EDWARDIAN ERA TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION FASHIONED OF A LIGHT GOLDEN BROWN SILK FAILLE. HIGH BAND COLLAR IS TRIMMED IN CHEMICAL LACE WITH THE FRONT IN CROSS OVER STYLE TRIMMED IN MATCHING LACE ALONG THE EDGE WITH EMBROIDERED NET LACE RUFFLES ALONG THE CLOSURE. SLEEVES ARE IN DOUBLE LAYER STYLE WITH EACH EDGE TRIMMED IN MATCHING LACE. INTERIOR IS IN POLISHED COTTON WITH BONING ON THE REAR AND AN UNLABELED METALLIC WOVEN INNER PETER SHAM. THE SKIRT IS IN MATCHING FABRIC. HOOKS CLOSED IN THE REAR WITH THE BOTTOM FINISHED IN SILK CORDING AND THE INTERIOR IS FULLY LINED IN POLISHED COTTON. CONDITION: THIS PIECE IS SOLD AS IT WAS ACQUIRED, NOTE THE CONDITION. THE UNDERARMS ARE HEAVILY STAINED AND THERE IS SPATTERED STAINING SEEN TO THE SILK ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CROSS OVER WITH A LARGE WATER STAIN JUST ASIDE THE LACE ON THE HIGH LEFT CHEST. WATER STAINING IS SEEN TO THE MIDDLE OF EACH SLEEVE WITH SPATTERED STAINING SEEN ACROSS THE BACK WITH FIVE PINHEAD HOLES TO THE REAR BACK AND FIVE PINHEAD HOLES TO THE LEFT UNDERARM. MATCHING SPATTERED STAINING IS SEEN TO THE SKIRTING IN AREAS WITH SMALL SPOTTING SEEN WHEN STUDIED CLOSE WITH A SERIES OF DARKER SPOT STAINS.
