Description: This is a rare handmade silver sauce or cream ladle with a gold washed bowl (for use with food). It is from the Art nouveau period. It was made in Denmark or Sweden and is signed by the silversmith "llbo" plus there are other marks on the back of the handle. (Please view photos as these marks are not known to me.) It tests for about .800 silver on the handle and has a silver standard mark impressed in the back of the bowl. The handle has a 3-DIMENSION repousse design of an Art Nouveau lady with flowing hair on both the front and the back. There is a delicate "barley sugar twist" stem ending in the shield bearing the silver marks. The handle ends in a rat tail on the back of the bowl. The shaping of the bowl is quite lovely. The condition is immaculate with no flaws at all.It is 6 1/2" long and the bowl is 2" in diameter including the spout and about 3/4" in depth. It weighs 20 grams.I am retired and downsizing for estate purposes. All special items are triple wrapped, well boxed, track and insured for delivery to you.
