Description: Rare antique, circa 1900, ornate brass pot used in China for ironing silks. The pot would be filled with hot sand or coals and the base would smoothly run over the silk. It was called a dragon pot. The pot measures 5.5 inches and the bowl is 3 inches in width. The bowl rim is beautifully higher on one end and the sides of the bowl have a floral pattern and Chinese symbol in low relief. There is a small brass leg under the handle, to balance the iron. The handle of the bowl is made out of wood and the tip is made out of jade. CHINA is stamped on the bottom. It is in good antique condition. Please see photos. I took several photos with different backgrounds and lighting.
