Description: Up for consideration is a Silver Plate Tilting Pitcher with the name BIRCH engraved on one side. Made by Wm. Rogers Manufacturing Co. Hartford, Conn. Quadruple Pattern #1467. The elaborate engraved design is of ferns and flowers. Marked on base of pitcher and goblet. Goblet is also engraved and is 6.25 inches tall. The pitcher has a couple of dents but it is complete. The handled plate underneath lifts out. We have had it since the 1970 and it is time to move it on. It needs a good cleaning and polishing; it has not been displayed in a long time. The tilting pitcher was set in the parlor for serving a cool drink of water or lemonade. The stand is 19 inches tall. Probably dates from late 1800's.
