Description: The label on the bottom of this small cradle makes it easy to date - it says Schwarz Toy Co 303 5th Ave NY. The Schwarz Toy Company (who later became FAO Schwarz) was at that location from 1910 to 1931. So I put this cradle at around 1920. It is really cute, and will fit a very small doll - the interior will allow for a 4 1/2 in doll, OR smaller. I think 4.5" would be the biggest it could hold. It is made from an inexpensive wood - probably plywood, which is why the finish on the outside has stripped away in a few places. Overall it displays really well, and has lots of primitive charm.
