Description: A RARE Chinese export Famille Rose porcelain covered tureen and matching plate made for the British East India Company, late 18th Century. Tureen is of oval form with a domed lid, fruit finial, and double-strap reeded handles having floral decor and armorial crests of the East India Company. The matching dish with gilt rim has the corresponding design and armorial crest. Both are in very good condition for age with normal wear from careful use, some loss to polychrome design, gilt loss in areas, light wear to inside tureen, etc. There are NO apparent cracks, repairs, chips, etc. Please see all photos for condition.
