It was issued and is dated 2010. Jomo Kenyatta, pictured on the note, led Kenya to independence in 1963 and was elected the first Prime Minister of Kenya. He served in that office until 1964 when Kenya changed itself into a republic. He was then elected President and was still in office when he died in 1978.
