~ 2 PIECE ANTIQUE CARVED OAK FIREPLACE MANTEL ~ 66 X 98 42 OPENING ~ SALVAGE

Description: Description This is a wonderful mantel that was salvaged from a Philadelphia home.It is made of oak and is painted. The top has 5 beveled mirrors, all are painted.Above the central mirror is a shelf supported by 2 fluted brackets and it is faced with a spindle gallery and finials.Each side has 2 small mirrors with a shelf and spindle gallery between.These small side shelves are trimmed in scalloped moldings and are supported by turned spindles.The lower section has a shelf trimmed in reel and bead molding that is supported by 2 large carved corbels.Below each corbel is a short turned column that sit on carved bracketed feet.The breast has an ornate spoon carved fishscale molding. It measures 66.25 inches wide, 98.5 tall (48 to main shelf), and is 12.75 inches deep.The firebox opening is 42 inches wide by 36 tall.Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. The shelf is loose and there is an open area on the underside. Not sure if a strip of wood is missing or if that had a ventilation function. Trips to NYC and New England are as needed. We can personally deliver if you are somewhat close to these routes much cheaper than freight or uship.
