Description: Straight from the vaults of the Krewe of Bacchus. These doubloons are fairly scarce in untouched condition, with a scant mintage of roughly 1000 pieces. Each are individually numbered on the edge of the doubloon. Designed by Blane Kern Artists in New Orleans and minted in west Germany, these earlier Bacchus pieces are some of the nicest Mardi Gras doubloons ever struck. Please note that these are gold plated over .999 silver weighing between .89 to .92 Troy oz… some slightly higher. The images in this listing were taken by me of one of the doubloons in the small hoard that was found, it is a good representation of the one that you will receive.
