Description: For sale is a very nice 1972-S Eisenhower GSA Silver Proof Dollar in the original government packaging. The GSA Silver Dollars were minted from 1971 - 1974 and sold by the U.S. General Services Administration where they packaged silver proof coins in special holders from the Mint and sold them individually as a promotion for the upcoming Bicentennial in 1976. This holder is right from the San Francisco Mint and on both sides it reads "Eisenhower United States Proof Dollar." It was also packaged in a slide-out box with a woodgrain finish that is total 70's décor! These were minted in limited quantities. As you can see from the pics the coin is in great shape, and I would say it would easily grade at a high proof grade, which is rare for Proof Ikes because they were not known for being great strikes at the mint. But this coin has that gorgeous mirror-image finish to it with the frosty cameo raised images you expect from high quality proof coins. The coin has some ghost toning which is very common with GSA proofs. I do have multiple coins available in the exact same condition and packaging if you were interested in buying more than one. I always give discounts for multiple quantities and always combine shipping. If you buy only one you will receive the coin in the pics. This is great for anyone looking to start a silver dollar collection, add to their current one, or just invest in more silver! Thanks!
