Description: This month I'm offering a number of old non-sport cards from various vintage sets. In 1965, comedian Soupy Sales had the most popular children's show in the country. His daily show was a mixture of improvisation, slapstick, and a little bit of everything else. Kids throught he was hysterical, and a lot of his stuff also went over their heads and kept the adults amused as well. Naturally, Topps jumped on the bandwagon and issued a set of 66 cards, consisting of black and white publicity photos, along with Soupy-like snarky sayings on the back. Note that at a certain point in the set's production, Topps reversed the plate making up the backs, which means that every photo comes with two different numbers, and vice versa. The only way to keep the two printings apart is to see how they're aligned - if a card is turned over, is the top of the "Soupy Sez" frame on the left or the right? All the cards I'm offering today are from the left-oriented printing. To get a full run, you actually have to collect a total of 132 cards, 66 left aligned and 66 right aligned! This set has remained tremendously popular with collectors. This is card #18 from the left-aligned printing. It's in nice shape with corner wear (see scans for condition). This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Shipping will be combined for multiple purchases. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
