Description: Vehicle Details Wow the time has come. A time I never would have thought we happen. To say this comes with a heavy heart is an understatement. I have gone back and forth for some time about this. Do I restore it? Then to what level? Get it to drive in car cruise night level? Frame off and keep as original as possible, dumping as much in to the engine as the body??? Resto mod??? Then what? Rent a storage spot? How much will that be? While crunching all that over the past few years a coworker asked if it wasnt your grandfathers, would you spend that kind of money for a 64 riv? or would you eye another car??? I guess while I do like the 63-65 Rivs they would not be first on my list if I was building a collection. In the top ten for sure just not #1, or even #2 or #3.This was bought new by my grandfather, and has been garage most of its life. I know it has had body (bondo) work done on the rear quarter panels near the rear glass, and it has been resprayed once. All back on the mid 70s. Other than having a body shop fab in some supports, on the missing floor to keep the seat from dragging on the ground, its not had much done. Besides its regualr maintenence which stopped decades ago. The engine has not been turned over in 20+ years, and nothing was done to prepare it for such long term storage. Im not planning any attempt to turn it over either...I will say It ran well when parked and had been started from time to time to keep the battery charged, only to sit after the battery finally died. Looks like it was lasted plated, although I dont think it was being driven in 2001. I have the car where I work, under a car cover, it is not indoors anymore. Im limited to 40 pictures, but IIRC, I can send as many as I like in messages. I have over 100 and can try and snap specific ones if asked. I had thought of listing this at BAT, but thought Id give a shot here first. I dont want to give it away, or junk it, but I know its not worth much more than a complete parts car, though parting it would bring more, but take longer and then what to do withit all beofre it finally sells?...A well sorted example might fetch $15-$20k and this could be one for about twice that investment or a bunch of elbow grease...Here is your shot for a one owner all original complete example. Ask questions and Ill try and answer the best I can, I can help load if this is being shipped but am not planning on arranging shipping for the buyer they are one their own for that...There is a dock at work that this can be loaded from if need be.
