Description: Up for auction is a beautiful censored postcard cover from a refugee in the Jewish ghetto in Shanghai China to Max Kauturek in Prague, Bohemia Moravia. Great cancels and markings. In excellent condition. Priced to sell. Postmarked January 20, 1941 in Shanghai. Before and during world war 2 many Jews fleeing Nazi persecution took refuge in Shanghai China forming a ghetto. Note the cover was mailed before the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941 which largely closed the train route via Siberia for mail going to Europe from Shanghai. Stamps have been removed by the censors looking for hidden messages. Shipping will be a flat $2.00 within the continental U.S. for USPS mail.
