Description: *****See my other auctions for more great historic & related items!***** Rare circa 1920's-30's Flocked Chalkware Christmas Santa Claus Figurine Chimney Sack of Toys 11" Tall ~ MINTY CONDITION ~ ALL ORIGINAL!!! Description: This incredibly well preserved vintage antique chalkware Santa from the 1920's or 30's is stepping down a chimney with his sack of toys(good details with toys & a doll or puppet). He is all hand-painted with rich colors & detail. His entire red suit & hat is heavily flocked & the red chimney is lightly flocked. His face is still perfectly preserved with excellent paint tones & details (better than pics in our opinion!) Very unusual for the flocking to be in such perfect original condition. No chips or cracks or crazing anywhere! All original. He measures 11" inches tall X about 6.5" wide. Weighs 5 - 6 lbs.The white spots on the toy sack, his boot, & elbow are NOT chips or flaws to the paint...but they are intentionally original paint to depict snow....like he has snow on him from trying to climb down the chimney. Amazing time capsule of a hard to find piece! Research only showed one other example like him in much worse condition. We've never found another one from this time period so nicely preserved.
