Covers and spine have age-related toning and wear that has caused some discoloration and slight tearing at the edges. Ex-library from the Engineer School of the United States and the Rand McNally Library, with the information on the front inside cover and stamped onto a few pages at the beginning of the volume. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges are worn, but pages remain attached and are generally in good condition. Maps have some tearing and toning. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. Frederick Schwatka was a United States Army Lieutenant with degrees in medicine and law. In 1878 to 1880, he led an expedition to the Canadian Arctic in the search for written records that had been left behind after Franklin’s lost expedition.
