Holden. . With original full hand colouring. Overall size 15.5cm x 23cm with large borders, perfect for mounting and framing. Condition generally very good with bright colours. Very occasional light age toning. Sir Joseph Paxton (1803-1865), was an English gardener, architect and Member of Parliament, best known for designing the Crystal Palace and for cultivating the 'Cavendish Banana', the most consumed banana in the Western world. In 1831, Paxton published a monthly magazine 'The Hotricultural Register'. This was followed by the Magazine of Botany in 1834 and was published into 16 volumes over a period of 15 years.
