It is an important record in British history, consisting of three hundred and forty-five leaves. The contents of the Red Book were published in detail by Joseph Hunter in 1838, making this an early examination of the work.Written by Henry Joseph Monck Mason (1778-1858), an Irish writer whose works include 'The Life of William Bedell'. 'Essay on the Antiquity and Constitution of Parliaments in Ireland' and an Irish-language version of the 'Book of Common Prayer'.Illustrated with a facsimile of the drawing in question.Comprising four leaves of text and one sketch of the work.A scarce work. CONDITION In a full cloth binding. Externally lovely. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little age-toned with the odd spot.
