Description: I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I must part with some of my collection. Modelcollect is a relative newcomer to the model world but has established a fabulous reputation for innovation and quality. They initially produced some small scale finished models and later branched out into kits and larger scales. Luckily for us, they have also produced some unique subjects never available before. This interesting kit falls into that category. The V-1 (officially the Fieseler Fi 103) was the first Vengeance Weapon (Vergeltungswaffe) and the first operational cruise missile. Nicknamed the Buzz Bomb or Doodlebug, thousands of these crudely guided, pulsejet-powered missiles rained down on England and the Low Countries in the final year of the war from these long, fixed launching ramps. Modelcollect has replicated one of these sites in 1/72 scale to allow you to show how the system worked, complete with Walter catapult. In fact, you get two complete sets of everything so you can make one aimed at London and one for Antwerp, using the two different painting schemes. I found over a dozen eBay listings for this kit (mostly from distant overseas sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have it in stock and I can reliably ship this kit very quickly. Here is what I have learned about this state-of-the-art kit: The Modelcollect website has a wonderful page for this kit that shows the impressive box art and the complete full-color 6-page instruction set and painting guide, showing the parts layout and easy assembly. From other sources, I have found the following information about their kit: · 1/72 scale model kit of the German V-1 rocket & the launch ramp. · V-1 rocket can be displayed separately, 2 pcs included.· Easy and simple assembly. Scalemates.com shows that this 2018 release is based on the new tool from 2016. They show the box art and give us a link to download the complete 6-page full color instruction sheets from the 2016 version of the V-1 Launch Site kit (#UA72033) which seems to include a small sheet of decals that this kit doesn’t have. All of the reviews I have found are of the 2016 version of the kit that includes a generic sheet of German marking decals. The kit in this listing is newer and does not include these decals. Since that is the only difference, the reviews should still be pertinent. We can safely assume the quality of both kits is identical. YouTube has a nice Unboxing Video of the 2016 V-1 Launch Site kit (UA72033) by florymodels that goes for five minutes. This has all of the same parts except it includes decals that you don’t get with the listed kit. You get a great view of the parts coming out of the box and the cellophane bag. If you prefer a Russian accent, DetailScaleView did a 4.5-minute Unboxing Video that shows the same thing with comments about the heavy parts. They also had a bilingual (English & Russian) In-Box review on the detailscaleview.com site. Their conclusion was: “Now you have a chance to assemble this famous German missile in 1/72 scale and place it on the supplied stand. Molding quality is good here, so you shouldn't be worried about possible problems.” Paul Brown did a short In-Box Review of the 2016 V-1 Launch Site kit (UA72033) on the brexitmodeller.com site. He has about a dozen high resolution photos of the parts and instructions, along with an actual preserved V-1 launching site. His final words included the following: “Posed on a suitable diorama base with some figures and vehicles, it should be an interesting model to look at. As a fan of German rocketry and assorted 'funnies' I'm hopelessly biased, but for something a little different this ticks all the boxes.” This kit is in a nice, sturdy box about 10.5” x 6.5” x 2”, with a great image of a V-1 launch. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with tape strips (these were never shrink wrapped from the factory), so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains two complete injection molded plastic model kits of a V-1 pulsejet missile and long launching ramp, without decals, but including a full color instruction sheet and painting guide. It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this compact item is offered with $8 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions and listings for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
