1/72 B-2A Spirit Bomber w/ 16 AGM-158 Modelcollect #UA72214 Factory Sealed MISB

Description: I have to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. Modelcollect is a relative newcomer to the model world but has established a fabulous reputation for innovation and quality. They initially produced some small scale finished models and later branched out into kits and larger scales. This tremendous release is the legendary B-2 Spirit that is the first operational Stealth Bomber in the world. Modelcollect has produced a couple of B-2 kits and this one has sixteen AGM-158 Air Launched Cruise Missiles (ALCMs)! I found dozens of listings for this newly-released kit on eBay (mostly from distant overseas sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this kit very quickly. Here is what I have learned about this state-of-the-art kit: The Modelcollect website has a page for this kit that shows the impressive box art and the complete full-color 24-page Instruction Set and Painting Guide. Unfortunately, there is not much information about the kit or subject. From other sources, I have found the following information about their kit: The B-2 Spirit, also known as the Stealth Bomber, is an American heavy strategic bomber, featuring low-observable stealth technology designed for penetrating dense anti-aircraft defenses. Designed during the Cold War, it is a flying wing design with a crew of two. The bomber is subsonic and can deploy both conventional and thermonuclear weapons. The B-2 is the only acknowledged aircraft that can carry large air-to-surface standoff weapons in a stealth configuration. The B-2 has various conventional weapons in its arsenal. As of 20111, the AGM-158 JASSM cruise missile standoff munition to be deployed on the B-2. This is to be followed by the Long Range Standoff Weapon which may give the B-2 a standoff nuclear capability for the first time. Because of its considerable capital and operating costs, the number of B-2s built remains 21 as of 2021. · 1/72 scale assembly model kit of B-2A Spirit Stealth Bomber in precision.· Authentically recreated from various information material with intricate details.· The weapons bay and cockpit are authentically recreated with photo etched parts.· Every one of the hatches can be built either open or closed.· Flap parts are supplied separately, can be built either in open or closed position.· Landing gears are built in either flight or ground position.· Overwhelmingly big size in 1/72.· Cartograf waterslide decals provided. Scalemates.com shows that this is a 2022 release based on the state-of-the-art 2017 tooling. They provide a link to download the complete 24-page full-color instruction set and painting guide for the parent kit (UA72201). They show the awesome box art and give us a few links to books and references that will be useful in your build, but not much specific information about this kit. With this release only being a few months old, I could find no reviews of this kit. Fortunately, there are quite a few enthusiastic reviews of the previous release (#UA72206) that should apply to this kit, due to their near-identical nature. A superb In-Box Review of #UA72206 has been posted on the scalemodelling.wiki site with an impressive history of the B-2 and in-depth analysis of the kit. There are high-resolution photos of each sprue, including the small PE fret and the large Cartograf decal sheet. His comments are helpful and at the end, he says: “This will build the most accurate model of the B-2 in this scale. The kit will be an impressive addition to anyone’s modern jet collection.” Adam Norenberg published an exhaustive In-Box Review of #UA72206 on the themodellingnews.com site with an extensive background story on the B-2, complete with photos of full-size B-2s and other aircraft for scale. He also compares the kit parts to many photos of aircraft to confirm the high level of accuracy. Adam takes us through each of the 36 steps of the instructions with his assessment of the kit. We then get photos of all the parts and comparisons to the real thing in some cases. You can tell he loves this aircraft and this kit. In his conclusion he said: “What we do have is a model that looks great and is accurate in shape and angles, and just an amazing subject. Although it is a bit of work, the outcome once you complete this model will be stunning for a modeller with enough balls and foresight to take it on.” Struggle Daddy with teenage mutant daughter produced a very long (almost 29 minutes) unnarrated Unboxing Video of #UA72206 on YouTube. With ethereal music accompaniment, the parts are brought before the camera, so you know exactly what you are getting in the box. The last half is a montage of professional still shots showing the detail of the parts in extreme close-up. This kit is in a beautiful, sturdy box about 16.5” x 12.5” x 4”, with a great image of this legendary bomber. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with tape strips (these were never shrink wrapped from the factory), so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit, with hundreds of grey and clear plastic parts, a small fret of color photo etched metal parts for the instrument panels and a large sheet of Cartograf decals, along with a huge instruction booklet. It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
