Reproduction units have a wonky thermistor guts that give false readings, ohm values way out of spec and are notoriously incorrect. OLD SCHOOL aftermarket units like the one in another listing by YAAP2000 is also calibrated correctly. When installing temp sending units into manifold don't use excessive pipe dope or Teflon tape as this could insulate the sender rendering faulty readings. If you suspect your sending unit is bad, remove and ground the wire on your sending unit and ground to the engine block - the gauge should read full hot. Using an ohm meter insure you have good continuity between sending unit and intake to insure proper function. Why buy reengineered reproduction of questionable durability when NOS OE factory is available (and quality old-school aftermarket). This is a real deal GM USA made long discontinued item.
